October 20, 2012For those of you who are new to my Newsletter, they don't come out very often.
My book, Pawns by Steve Shapiro is now listed on the www.barnesandnoble.com web site.
We are still selling off my mother's art works, because she wanted people to have them and not to be sequestered in the family in some storage bin or locked in a family residence.
She went through a period of a loss of identity before divorcing my father. It was a culmination of the supression of women that she, herself experienced in Art School where to earn your masters degree, they had to exhibit; but no women were permitted to hang work on the walls of the Tyler School of Fine Art, Temple University. So, women had to change their names to mens' names.
That explains a lot of great women artists with mens' names, like our own Carmel artist Artie Early.
Buy art, read books, stop for random acts of beauty.
